KUALA LUMPUR: Touch 'n Go (TNG) eWallet Malaysian users aged 18 to 20 and students in the local higher education institutes are entitled to claim the RM150 eBelia credit and TNG eWallet's reward up to RM1,000.
The Touch 'n Go Group via TNG eWallet has been selected to participate in eBelia, an initiative introduced by the Finance Ministry to promote cashless spending on the youths' essential and study needs while lightening their burden, as well as encouraging businesses to accept cashless transactions.
TNG said the eWallet's reward comprised up to RM600 worth of vouchers from its co-partner Lazada and up to RM600 worth of bundled cashback and discount vouchers from over 250 brands, including online, retail, F&B and transportation.
TNG Digital Sdn Bhd chief executive officer Ignatius Ong said Malaysians had gone through tough times during the pandemic.
The company was aligned with the government's approach to not only revive Malaysia's economy via digitalisation, but also ensuring that the next generation of Malaysia reaped the benefits through financial supports and safer transaction avenues.
"The parents of the youths are also urged to encourage their eligible children to claim with us as we help them with their needs.
"We want them to stay home and get the items they need, including the apps from the App Store and Google Play Store through online and in-app using the RM150 eBelia credit, use the vouchers or choose us as a safer payment option if they require a quick outing to purchase essential items," Ong said in a statement.
eBelia runs from June 1 until July 31 this year and claims can be used for in-app and online purchases excluding overseas merchants.
In-store retail payments can also be made using the RM150 eBelia credit.
Itvis non-transferable to other eWallet accounts and cannot be used for bills, prepaid, postpaid and game credits payments within the programme period.
With a strong network of over 15 million of eWallet users and over 350,000 merchant acceptance points, TNG eWallet calls for the youths to download the TNG eWallet app and complete their account verification process to be eligible for the RM150 eBelia credit.
