Approximately 500 residents of PPR Seri Pantai attended the event.
Praba Sangarajoo said, “We are honoured to collaborate with YB Fahmi Fadzil and his team to host this buka puasa event for the Seri Pantai community. Since relocating to Kampung Kerinchi in 2011, the Touch ‘n Go Group has truly appreciated being a part of the Lembah Pantai community.”
“Over the years, we have built strong ties and fostered relationships with the community through festive events, as well as contributed food aid and other necessities, especially during the pandemic; and every Ramadan, we have been contributing towards the well-being of our neighbours. Beyond providing food aid and essential items, we also contribute efforts towards encouraging digital literacy and inclusion within the community.”
In addition to this buka puasa event, the Touch 'n Go Group also collaborated with Surau Al-Hijrah in PPR Pantai Ria to host 5 days of iftar. Employees of the Group volunteered their time to help with preparations during the iftar meals. They also volunteered in the preparation, cooking, and distribution of approximately 1,500 packs of bubur lambuk. The Group also contributed 50 boxes of infaq (charity boxes) for the especially needy families within the community.
Besides hosting the buka puasa spread, Touch ‘n Go Group and YB Fahmi Fadzil also contributed 200 electronic tablets to the school-going children from Seri Pantai PPR.
“The effects of the pandemic are still seen and felt by various segments in the country. A significant impact can be seen among students; where schools have continued with online learning as part of their daily lessons. We hope that these tablets will help to empower the students in this community to progress in their education.
“The children of today are leaders of tomorrow. Being a fintech company, we firmly believe that information technology and digital transformation are a catalyst for innovation and advancement in society. There is a wealth of good information and knowledge available nowadays through digital space. We hope that these tablets will be a means for these students to explore learning beyond the classroom, gaining knowledge as well as more interactive experiences and enrichment which will be enablers for building a better future,” said Praba.
